Lanark Community Development Trust wants to deliver projects and initiatives which are genuine local priorities. At any given time, we’ll be working on two or three projects which will be at various stages of development – anything from a fledgling idea right through to a fully planned and funded initiative. The aim of the ‘Lanark Vision’ is enable Lanark to fulfil its potential through a range of strategic projects designed to improve the town centre, drive visitor footfall and create a positive brand image for Lanark.
Since 2012, we have been working to restore the jewel in Lanark’s crown – Castlebank Park. Our aim is for the Castlebank Horticultural Centre to become an educational and training asset for the local community.
The Lanark Website was set up in 2012 by the Border Biscuits Community Support initiative. The Development Trust have recently taken over the management of the site and will continue to run it as one-stop online resource for the town.
Lanark Community Development Trust wishes to celebrate Lanark’s links with the historic Clydesdale Horse breed by erecting a magnificent public arts sculpture.
