Lanark Railway Station Improvement

Lanark Community Development Trust worked with Network Rail to improved the appearance and usability of Lanark Railway Station. Vacant rooms that were not in use were upgraded and restored so they could be used again. Furthermore, the appearance of the station was given a facelift, with attractive new signage that linked with the banners in the High Street. As part of the ‘brand Lanark’ campaign, new signage was put above the stairs leading out of the station, to welcome visitors to the town. In 2022, Discover Lanark added a new arrival sign for tourists and visitors located next to the station as part of the ongoing effort to improve the visitor experience in Lanark.
