We have asked our community and partners what they see as important areas to focus on. We will continue to hold regular community consultations and create working groups to review the priority projects, looking at the changing needs of the community and funding opportunities.

Drawing upon the potential of our unique cultural and natural heritage, Lanark and its environs will be a greener, more prosperous place to live, work and visit – proud of its past and confident in its future.
Exploring the viability of community renewable energy projects in and around Lanark.
Improving the train/bus station area, with the long-term aspiration of a Transport and Welcome Hub and community facility.
Accessing funding for Lanark’s heritage and place regeneration; to develop a vibrant and sustainable town centre and landscape setting.
Local tourism support, to help maximise the opportunities around the growing tourism industry in Scotland.
A Local Place Plan, where as a community we will develop proposals expressing our aspirations and ambitions for future change in Lanark.
Working with the Council to examine the future of the racecourse and Common Good assets of the town.
A Heritage and Civic Forum, helping to harness the energy and enthusiasm of local groups.
Developing the New Lanark to Bonnington Power Trail, encouraging knowledge and understanding of the Falls of Clyde’s contribution to Scotland’s power generation.
A Lanark Development Forum, bringing together local organisations and agencies to work together more closely.
