The trail covers three broad themes: -Heritage: 250 years of water-powered technology at New Lanark, from waterwheels to electricity-generating turbines. -Environment: The Scottish Wildlife Trust manages and monitors the nature reserve for the benefit of its biodiversity. -Hydro-electricity: A 20th and 21st century story of hydro power at the site of one of the country’s first hydro-electric power stations for public supply.
