Bees at Castlebank

Location: ML11 9EG
We’re ‘buzzing’ to say that our honeybees have moved into their new home at Castlebank Horticultural Centre! Our beekeeper, Jim Moynagh, holds regular informative talks on bees. Our bees are now established and producing honey, which we sell at seasonally Castlebank Horticultural Centre. If you live locally and have knowledge of beekeeping and would be keen to volunteer helping us look after the bees, please get in touch info@temp-lanarktrust.pqxz12wfuq-rz83yglk93d7.p.temp-site.link

Project Timeline

2019

We received The National Lottery Community Fund Scotland ‘Awards for All’ funding in 2019 to create a Community Apiary as part of the centre’s activities.

2022

In 2022, it was decided to relocate the bees to a new enclosure at the Centre. With the help of our volunteers and South Lanarkshire’s Community payback team, a new bee area was built, which provides a viewing area of the bees, so you can get up close to the bees.
