Friday 8th May 2020 marks the 75th Anniversary of victory in Europe.

The VE Day 75th Anniversary was the planned theme for this year’s FlowerFest, to be held in Castlebank Park from 8th – 10th May 2020.

This annual event which has grown in popularity every year has sadly been cancelled in 2020 due to COVID-19.

To carry on the spirit the festival would have brought to Lanark, and to help keep local families busy, Lanark Community Development Trust is running a competition to win a summer garden goody bag donated by Morrisons.

To enter, you can either submit:

1. Print out and colour in these VE Day colouring-in sheets from the Armed Forces Charity
2. Use blank paper and create an original VE Day drawing
3. Strike a pose and send in your own ‘V for Victory’ photo (as made famous by Winston Churchill)

Email photos and entries to info@lanarktrust.co.uk. Competition closes Sunday 10th May 2020.

You may also wish to enter the SSAFA national competition, more on this website: https://givepenny.com/appeal-for/ve-day-75-art
