Castlebank Horticultural Centre

We have had a busy March so far at the Horticultural Centre! We’ve hosted the first of our Ready, Set, Garden Workshops and braved the cold for our “spring” Guided Walk. We’ve also welcomed visits from school groups, local community garden groups and hosted a tour for delegates attending the Scottish Rural Action Conference.

There is a busy programme for the year ahead which you can read about on our ‘What’s On’ page. We will be following national advice regarding the cancellation or postponement of events, so please keep up to date on our website or Facebook page if you have booked for anything.

The annual general meeting of Lanark Community Development Trust will take place on Tuesday 7th April, at 7.00pm, at The Tolbooth in Lanark High Street. This will be an opportunity for you to hear about the work of the Trust over the past year. The Chairman will report on the activities of the Trust and the annual accounts will be presented.

There will be reports from our various sub-groups and also presentations by our Development Manager, Melissa Reilly, and our Educational Gardener, Stuart Ritchie.

If you are a full member of the Trust resident in the community of Lanark you are entitled to stand for election to the Board. If you would like to exercise this right, you should indicate this in writing to the Trust, c/o Castlebank Horticultural Centre at the address below, not less than seven working days prior to the AGM.

If you are unable to attend the AGM and wish to appoint a proxy to vote on your behalf, please indicate this in writing, or by electronic means, to the Trust not less than forty-eight hours in advance of the meeting.

We rely on your support and donations to be able to continue delivering community projects here in Lanark. Why not think about becoming a member of the Development Trust to support more regularly? We are a charitable, non-profit body which carries out projects for the common good. Our aspiration is to develop and deliver priority community projects which have a social, environmental and economic impact. Any support would be greatly appreciated!
