LANARK FESTIVALS

We’ve already enjoyed a host of events as part of Lanark Winterfest 2019, including: the Christmas Market; Illuminated Lanimer Winter Parade & Late Night Lanark and the Festive Taste in Lanark! There are still events to enjoy before Christmas, so take a look at the Winterfest programme.

Discover Lanark have made great progress in installing the new light ceiling in the Wellgate. A fantastic festive touch for the town!

CLYDESDALE HORSE PROJECT

The Development Trust’s Clydesdale Horse Project is progressing well. We are actively applying for grants and seeking donations to contribute to the success of the project. We wish to create a magnificent sculpture, celebrating Lanark’s heritage and historical links to the Clydesdale Horse breed. We’re also creating an educational booklet about the history of the Clydesdale. If you would like to get involved, please get in touch!

Donations to the project may be made by

CASTLEBANK HORTICULTURAL CENTRE

It’s been a busy end to the year at the Horticultural Centre. On 30th November & 1st December, we hosted Wreath Making Workshops for 36 people over 3 sessions. A beautiful selection of unique wreaths were created – well done everyone! Proceeds from the workshops will be returned to the Trust to reinvest in the ongoing care and development of the park & centre. On 10th December, we celebrated all our volunteers’ hard work over the year with our Christmas lunch at the centre. In 2019, volunteers contributed 4,739 hours! Coming up in the New Year, we have a Get to know your camera: Photography Workshop on 1st February and Winter Family Garden Club on 10th February.
