Lanark Community Development Trust have been awarded £99,940 from the Big Lottery Fund to deliver a three year community gardening project at Castlebank Horticultural Centre, employing an Educational Gardener and delivering activities for the local community in Lanark. The project will deliver a range of horticultural, educational and volunteering opportunities to local people of all ages and backgrounds. It will help local people take control of their lives, reduce isolation and improve community connections.

Sylvia Russell, Chair of Lanark Community Development Trust said: “We are absolutely delighted to have received a National Lottery award from the Big Lottery Fund. After years of determination and hard work to develop the Horticultural Centre at Castlebank Park, this award, coupled with the completion of the newly renovated Community Hub building, marks the final phase of the project’s completion. The next three years of the community gardening project will be a very exciting time at Castlebank Park, with lots of opportunities for local people to get involved.”

JOB TITLE: Educational Gardener

SALARY:  £25,000 per annum

LOCATION: Lanark, Castlebank Horticultural Centre

TERMS: 3 year’s fixed term contract. 35 hours per week, public holidays. Commencing 18.02.19
